HIV and AIDS in the Workplace |
|

|
From 2008 - 2010 the LRS is focussed on developing comprehensive and practical strategies for organised labour to play a role in the effective implementation, monitoring, evaluation and improvement of the South African Government's National HIV/Aids Strategic Plan (NSP 2007-2011)
In the project thus far we have been able to see the following results:
- Participating unions have used the NSP to frame their HIV collective bargaining demands
- Using the NSP as a framework participating unions are experimenting with strategies to address stigma and the gendered nature of the epidemic
- Unions participating in the LRS HIV Forums have developed plans for improving their participation in the South African National Aids Council (SANAC)
