I joined the LRS in July 2017 with an urban studies and development economics background. One of my recent research passions has been organisation and participation approaches within the informal sector. I am intrigued by the manner in which forms of participatory democracy is approached and implemented within South Africa. The labour movement in South Africa is key in promoting participation both internally in and externally. I am thus very grateful to be in a position, at the LRS, in which I can access information through research and facilitate processes of information sharing to assist unions in meeting their objectives.
